Salem Heights is a neighborhood in North Billerica on the north side of Salem Road, next to King's Pines. In January 1952 S. Albert Kaufmann, registered land surveyor, of Malden drew two subdivision plans of land of Nicholas and Sophie Pichowicz, the "Subdivision Plan of Third Parcel" and the "Subdivision Plan of Part of Fourth Parcel," both noting that the "Name of Development is Salem Heights." The Planning Board approved them on February 8, 1952 and they were recorded together on February 11, 1952 (Plan Book 81, Plan 142). They laid out Charme Road and Keyes Road, 40 feet wide, running north from Salem Road (then also called Canal Street), joined at the far end by Hanson Road, with about forty lots, most of them 100 by 100 feet. More land of the Pichowicz family lay on either side, along Pichowicz Road. The first houses date from about 1950.
